Review: 'Worriedaboutsatan'
'Heart Monitor'

-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Release Date: '29th March 2010'

Our Rating:
Dark ambient electro-glitch duo Worriedaboutsatan have been carving their own niche for some time now, and last year's full-length debut, 'Arrivals' certainly didn't disappoint after the promise of their early EPs. My glowing review of it here on W&H wasn't exactly isolated by any means, and the positive press the release garnered was testament to the magnificent adeptness these guys have for making music that's capable of both enhancing and creating mood.

There was never any doubt in my mind that they still had plenty more to offer, and this new single release more than justifies this faith. 'Heart Monitor' is perhaps less glitchy than some of their previous works, but spread over a massive nine and a half minutes, is a spacious slow-burning epic that demonstrates the sparseness and dislocation that they have made their trademark.

The other tracks - in particular the her.eyes.like.static remix of 'Heat Monitor', which reaches truly colossal proportions of density - all contribute to making this an outstanding release however you look at, or listen to, it. For optimum results, however, I recommend playing through headphones with the lights low...
