Review: 'Gotan Project'
'Tu Misterio'

-  Label: 'XL Recordings'
-  Genre: 'Soundtrack' -  Release Date: '21st June 2010'

Our Rating:
The name Gotan Project is one that strikes me as vaguely familiar, although I have no idea why (I've never watched any of the major US series their music has featured on, which include Nip/Tuck and sex and the City. C'mon, you think I have time for television when there's so much music to listen to?), and I'm confident that this is my first exposure to their work.

'Tu Misterio' has a classic Gallic feel to it, with a laid-back, late-night tango underpinned by a trip-hop beat. The vocals are smooth and cool, in a gravelly, smoky sort of a way. It's not exactly rush out and buy music, but is perfect soundtrack and background material, and as such, it's very good indeed.
