Our Rating:
There's a cheesy but vaguely humourous single by a band called The Monks (not the 60s garage band) that goes by the title 'Nice Legs, Shame About Her Face.' I'm reminded of this, because on hearing this album, I can't help but think that Filterwolf is a pretty cool name for a band, but my overall opinion runs along the lines of 'great band name, shame about the album.'

The pseudo-Eastern style vocals and endless stream of electro-house noodlings that drip and dribble over uninspired techno rhythms get very monotonous very quickly, and there's so little variety I have to keep checking to be sure I haven't got the same track on repeat. On one hand, it's a relief to know I'm not losing my marbles, but the discovery that I'm still only on track six and this halfway through is hardly uplifting.

It's so disappointing when the actuality falls so desperately short of the aim. What 'Music from Tomorrow' is supposed to feature is 'fast-paced electronica with reminiscence of Kraftwerk and Carl Craig is combined with sampled oriental and middle-eastern Burial-esque vocals.' Actually, this is fundamentally true, but what this doesn't suggest is that this potentially exciting and inventive hybrid is worn into the ground in the space of the first couple of tracks before losing its novelty value and the ideas (and samples) are rehashed endlessly to fill a twelve-track album with what could easily be condensed to an EP.

I like my blippy bleepy trance cal with a pseudo-mystical sheen, full of eastern techno promise, as much as the next man, but this is a real let-down, and probably the most boring album I've heard in a long time.

Stupidest review i have found about this masterpiece of dancefloor music. Completely irrelevant.

Check the music this reviewer digs - like Henry Rollins and Revolting Cocks for example - on http://www.myspace.com/christophernosnibor and you will possibly understand his incompetence.

For me this is one of the best techno albums of the year.
