Dunno about you, but for me one of the worst aspects of MTV's widescale hijacking of "Punk" (term used ultra-tenuously) is its' creation of an army of skate-y, supposedly Emo rockers emanating from the States who've grown up loving Kiss rather than the Sex Pistols and think the Blink 182 model is the one to emulate.
LESS THAN JAKE fit this mould so snugly it hurts. "She's Gonna Break Soon"'s got the obvious neurotic teen girl storyboard, huge shoutalong chorus and clocks in at a near-perfect 3 minutes 10 seconds without ever resorting to anything you'd dare describe as "cerebral" or "intelligent."
And d'you know what's the worst part of the whole deal? Your normally impermeable reviewer can't stop playing the bloody thing, regardless of his better nature. Dammit. It's formulaic, interchangeable and from a whole stable of similar outfits and...oh shag it, I even caught myself singing it in the shower this morning. Aaaaarrrrggghhhhh!!!!!!!

So there you go. I'm anything but proud to admit I give in, but "She's Gonna Break Soon" is catchier than the clap in Amsterdam's Red Light district and I can't decimate it, no matter how hard I try. You bastards!!! Have you no mercy??
