Review: 'Lostaura'
'The Hiding Place'

-  Label: 'The Animal Farm'
-  Genre: 'Indie'

Our Rating:
After hearing the record over and over again, it became apparent that in The Hiding Pace, this Brighton five piece have an instantly likable mini album that has the ability to grow with every listen. Car stereos to stadiums, Lostauras sound is big enough to fill any space. This being their debut, the future holds exciting things for this band that have already had good coverage on local BBC radio stations.

The 6 track mini album enters with whirlwind of bright and screeching guitars that leads into a choppy verse and catchy chorus, that is opening song One In A Million. Beside You raises the bar and shows off the bands dynamic sound, it suggests influence from the recent piano driven indie scene but mostly draws comparison with U2. Songs like Chevron and Call it A Night also succeed in building up to explode with massive choruses aliened with huge guitars that are completely engrossing.

Chevron, possibly the pick of the bunch, is powered by dynamic drum patterns and choppy guitars typifying the modern indie feel which only adds to the impressive nature of Lostauras song writing.

With four absolutely captivating tracks the last two tended to get forgotten about but I put that down to the strength of the previous songs, and lets be honest, they are pretty good to.

Lets hope we hear more from lostaura and lets hope we hear it soon. They may have a big future.
