'Remedy' is a stripped-back slice of electro with a distinctly 80s feel, not least of all because of the dominance of the synthetic disco beat that occupies much of the mix with a relentless insistence. Guest vocalist Antoinette lends a laid-back smoothness to the analogue-y bass, but the lyrics are deeply repetitive and the song really doesn't go anywhere. It's not a bad groove though, in a minimalist sort of a way that evokes a degree of nostalgia.
The spaciousness is accentuated in Rennie Foster's Dirty Works Mix. It's certainly the pick of the remixes (and there are plenty), the remainder being very much standard club fare, stretching out past the seven minute mark with tedious EQ tweaks and other seriously unimaginative drum solos and turgid knob-twiddling antics.
