Our Rating:
I must admit that my knowledge of the Hungarian rock 'n' roll metal scene isn't that great, but apparently this Budapest quintet are big in their homeland, and are now looking to break into Europe. For the lead single, which is also the first track on the album, they've enlisted Zak Tell of Clawfinger to help them to achieve that goal. All things considered, there's a good chance they could get popular in Germany, and as an example of the style - that riff-heavy hard rock sound - 'You And Your Revolution' is pretty convincing.

'Figure' is a full-on, raw-throated metal workout with immense nads, but elsewhere the driving guitars and powerhouse double-pedal drumming is all a bit much, especially when coupled with a bombastic, Bruce Dickinson inspired wail. Overdramatic? Just a tad. 'In vain' is so cliche, and lyrically so corny it's as though Spinal Tap had never happened.

Credit where it's due, however: 'You and Your Revolution' is a cohesive album, and is well executed, the production is suitably dense with a truly thunderous rythm section, with a bass that really does shake the floorboards. It's nice to hear a full-on rock album that is genuinely full-on from start to finish - there's no mummy's boy acoustic ballads thrown in here - and seemingly takes Motorhead's adage of 'everything louder than everything else' as its foundation, rather than placing an undue emphasis on the widdly guitars (which are mercifully infrequent) or on the vocals, an annoying tendency on so many rock albums. I always maintain that if it's a rock album it shouldn't have a pop mix.

There are pop elements, however, or at least an accessibility about some of the tracks: ' Mother's Day,' for example, has a truly gargantuan chorus, and yes, I'd even go so far as to describe it as a catchy hook, and the same is true of 'Gone far' which comes hot on its heels. It might not be revolutionary, but it definitely rocks.
