Review: 'BIFFY CLYRO'
'God & Satan (single)'

-  Label: '14th Floor Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '23rd August 2010'

Our Rating:
From Mercury prize nominated album 'Only Revolutions' , we find Ayrshire's finest hedging their bets between heaven and hell and diplomatically stating a willingness to hear both sides on the basis that: "I know for certain someone is watching -but is it from up or down" .

The string backing is presumably added to lend a mood of weighty doubt to the philosophical dilemma posed but threatens to swamp what is, after all, a simple song with an uncomplicated message.

The big video production follows the same OTT route.

Fortunately, Simon Neil's earthy vocals just about keeps things grounded and this single can only consolidate the onward march of the trio.
