Review: 'LUNA KISS'
'Luna Kiss EP'

-  Genre: 'Post-Rock' -  Release Date: 'October 2010'

Our Rating:
Coventry-based purveyors of prog-rock clearly have big ambitions, and have been taking their rapidly-evolving live set not only to all corners of the UK, but to destinations across the globe. This self-titled two tracker is their debut release.

In terms of delivering as advertised, I can't fault Luna Kiss. Clearly and unquestionably heavily influenced by Pink Floyd, their sound is led by soaring guitars that have that clean overdrive and caverns or reverb thing going.

If 'Stop This Behaviour' gives perhaps too much emphasis to the vocals, which don't come across as being a tad 'alt rock' and not all that distinctive, then the eight and a half minute 'Silver Lines' more than compensates. Pure prog perfection, with changes in texture and tempo reminiscent of early Oceansize and vast instrumental expanses that are gripping and majectic. A great start.
