Our Rating:
The promo for this LP is a DJ Megamix by the man hisself that tears through the tracks at a right old rate. If already familiar with the many works of Mr Buckfunk 3000 you’re really going to like this, if not then all you need to know is that this is mighty fine electronic music for dancing to and such.

For openers ‘Body’ [featuring DJ Rush the first of several collaborations] puts an insistent 3-note hook over Mr B’s trademark tough electrofunk beats, phat as phuck heavyweight bass and tight as tight edits and cuts, consider yourself called to the dancefloor. Moving swiftly down the ‘Buss’ [feat Miss C] the flavour is garage rudeness with rhythms to match. The energy of ‘Buss’ carries into ‘Technology’ before we’re into the swirling arpeggios vocodered vocals and straightened out beats of ‘Airport’, another collaboration this time with Femme Von Trapp, and no I’ve never heard of her either.

‘VIP’ twists swerves and turns chops and stops without ever losing momentum; heavily processed vocals informing us that we are not important, and the bassline? It’s a rasper jasper, a rasper. ‘Move Up’ has elements of garage and ragga without really sounding like either, a stack of chat bouncing beats and looming booming bass. ‘Colour’ takes the band downtempo behind me for Jinadu to sing his soulful song. To finish we get the phone shenanigans of ‘Time/Kebabs, a downbeat end to this action packed exciting inventive collection. Here’s to the LP proper sez I.
