'Walking the Dog'

-  Label: 'Hassle'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '22nd November 2010'

Our Rating:
Call me cynical, but I don't think Paramour would be nearly as successful as they are if they weren't fronted by a flame-haired girl. Not that I can really see the appeal myself, but if I was a teenage boy who liked 'alternative' looking girls, I guess I might like Paramour, and be willing to overlook the manufactured angst and the horribly compressed mid-range sound of the music. It's all about marketing, right?

fun. have been touring with Paramour, and this, their latest single from their debut album, is being released to coincide with their latest trip to the UK with the aforementioned. Female-fronted 'rock' act. It's great for a band to bag a support slot like that: it's the kind of exposure most would sell their credibility for. On the evidence of this offering, this was never going to be an issue for fun. Flimsy college indie pop, there's a distinct lack of, well, anything here, beyond a bouncy, chirpy disposition and a rather limp-wristed sounding 'na na na' chorus. Certainly not my idea of fun.

fun. Online.
