Review: 'Bailey, Liam'
'So Down, So Cold EP'

-  Label: 'Lioness Records'
-  Genre: 'Soul' -  Release Date: '28th November 2010'

Our Rating:
I try to be objective, I really do. But this just isn't my bag. Liam's yet another 'hotly-tipped' singer-songwriter, and this three-tracker, released on Amy Winehouse's label, Lioness Records, showcases the 'raw tenderness of the up-and-coming soul man’s unique vocal.'

I daresay it does, but there's a fine line between 'soulful' and 'self-indulgent muso meanderings.' The first couple of tracks, 'Breaking Out' and 'Fool Boy' didn't exactly do much to impress me, but at least they didn't annoy the hell out of me, which the title track most certainly did. All that bap-bap-pap gurgling oozes self-satisfaction and smugness to my ears.

Might want to see a doctor about that hot tip, too, it might be contagious, which is more than can be said of the music.
