Review: 'BRIGHTLIGHT CITY'
'Pressure (Single)'

-  Label: 'Venti Venti Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '29th November 2010'

Our Rating:
Writing this during the season of good will to all men, I have laboured, but ultimately failed, to find something supportive to say about this debut single from Jamie, Justin, Jono, Joe and....er.... Dan of London.

Their press release gamely stresses the "driving guitars, stuttering drumming and regionalised vocals" but nothing can put a gloss on a track which is so startlingly unoriginal from start to finish.

You have to bring something new to the jangling riffs, anthemic chorus indie boy band formula if you want an impact .

Brightlight City bring nothing new to the table here.

Don't be broken hearted.....don't let them get you down......it's all right ...Jamie reassures an undefined girl with regard to an undefined pressure.

And then there's the B-Side - Is This Love? - which sounds like washed out pre-stadium status U2.
