Review: 'Silver Magic Ships'
'Back to Bad Habits'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '21st February 2011'

Our Rating:
Silver Magic Ships are about to release an EP on 21st of March.
After taking a sneak listen before the release date, I can safely say that Back to Bad Habits embodies everything I love about the Manchester music scene.

Vibrant chord sequences and dancey beats in the song 'Back to Bad Habits' make this EP an uplifting and driving experience, while these kind of anthemic tunes contrast sublimely with the understated heart-felt honesty of 'Soul Shines Through' and displays great potential for development and songwriting growth.

Impressively winning the JAR Music Industry Showcase at the Manchester Academy in 2010 (and a slot at the 02 Academy in Islington), the Silver Magic Ships quickly decamped to Moolah Rouge Studios (see also I Am Kloot) to begin recording with the well-respected producers/engineers at Northern Cats - Andy Fletcher (Arctic Monkeys, Reverend & The Makers, Kooks) and Dan Broad (Happy Mondays, Johnny Marr & The Cribs, Black Grape).

While listening to the album, I thought to myself "I bet they are incredible live", and I have it from a trusted source that they are.

Get involved and buy this when it comes out, it is incredible!
