Review: 'C.H.DISTRICT'
'Conclusion'

-  Label: 'Tympanik Audio'
-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Release Date: '8th November 2010'-  Catalogue No: 'TA048'

Our Rating:
This solo project is the work of Poland's Miroslaw Matyasik who combines mostly instrumental industrial sounds with electronic beats.

His website lists four previous full length albums, the last of which (Slides) came out in 2005 and the Tympanik press blurb says that Conclusion is more dance orientated than previous releases.

To my ears, the emphasis seems to more on flow than charged up beats. Sadly, too many tracks (like Burnout and Creep) get stuck in a rut of a not so dynamic groove and the one vocal track (Like A Human - featuring Tomtylor) is more like cheesy Euro disco-pop than cutting edge techno.

The trump card here, though, is the title track, strategically positioned as track five of the ten tracks and easily the best thing here. It begins innocuously enough with a looped beat but shifts gear when a voice sample enters the frame. It matters not what the man is saying (and I haven't the slightest idea even what language it is) but it works perfectly to give a new energy and dimension to the record.

The appropriately titled Practical Tool also has a thumping beat and the short 1#2 is a blast of noise I personally would have liked to hear more of.

Overall, aside form the title track, this album is a little too controlled and predictable. More so-so than far-out.
