Review: 'Impact'
'Strength Through Loyalty'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '20th June 2011'

Our Rating:
Everything seems to post something or other these days, and if it's not post, it's new, nu or neo something or other. Postmodern culture has spawned post-rock, neo-prog, neo-folk, nu-rave, nu-metal, post-hardcore... There's nothing post about Impact, though. These guys are hardcore, with no ironic or pretentious genre prefix, and with a hefty dose of metal for extra weight.

The result is five tracks of pure rage that's dominated by crushing guitars that slam like metal-coated slabs of granite. The emotional range may be narrow, channelled tightly between howling anger and unbridled rage, but it's delivered with conviction and genuine force. The name might be corny, but Impact deliver exactly what they promise, and you can't argue with that.
