Review: 'WAREHOUSE REPUBLIC'
'Warehouse Republic Electric Blues Tinge Rock'

-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '27th June 2011'

Our Rating:
Following hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed debut release 'Revolver', Warehouse Republic embark upon an action-packed month of appearances and launches to promote their new Single 'Not Today' that looks set to cement their reputation as one of the UK's™s most hotly-tipped new bands.

A blistering electric Blues-tinged rock and roll four-piece formed in Epsom, Surrey in late 2010, Warehouse Republic have been winning rave reviews for sold out performances at venues such as The 100 Club and support act to Morning Parade at London's prestigious club night This Feeling on June 11 2011.

The band have also seen their music championed on BBC Introducing and even national German radio, while Revolver earned numerous 'single of the week' accolades and is fast becoming a hit on YouTube due in part to the fact the video features stunning Hollywood actress Rachel Hurd-Wood.

However things could have turned out very differently when in December 2010, a house fire almost cost Charlie Flynn, the band's chief songwriter, arranger, lead guitarist and vocalist his life. Forced to leap to safety from a third story attic window Charlie suffering a concussion and broken bones and lost all his worldly possessions in the fire including five guitars, an amp and a collection of rare records.

But the fire only heightened the group's resolve to be successful - not even breaking his leg in three places in a separate incident could stop drummer Alex Howson from performing at the 100 Club alongside Charlie and band mates Ben Woolford (bass) and James Nicholls (rhythm guitar) when further misfortune befell the band and Warehouse Republic now treat every day and every live performance like it was their last one.

Fresh from a headline slot at the City Showcase: Spotlight London Festival and a main support slot for much-loved Brit Pop act Dodgy, Warehouse Republic will be performing at the Secret Garden Party and a host of other festivals this summer – and with their unique sound which is heavily steeped in the blues and pop music of the 60s and 70s, but still feels contemporary, fresh and invigorating 2011, could well herald the arrival of a very special new British band on the UK music scene.
