I was still busy cursing the fact I hadn't been able to make it down to see Moon Duo's recent York show (they came highly recommended by a reliable source) when this, their latest single landed in my inbox. So now I'm cursing even more.
Ok, so 'Fallout' doesn't sound like an obvious single cut. It's not catchy or succinct, it's not even especially memorable in itself, but that's not what Mood Duo - Ripley Johnson of Wooden Shjips and his partner Sanae Yamada – are about. 'Fallout' is all about the vibe. The track radiates deep, resonating psychedelic auras in many fuzzy hues. They set the groove and just hold it there, steady, insistent, hypnotic. Far out.
