Review: 'Supermen Lovers, The'
'Foundation Disco EP'

-  Genre: 'Dance' -  Release Date: '8th August 2011'

Our Rating:
Proving that one hit wonders don't jack it in and get regular day jobs, but instead continue to kick out a seemingly endless string of flops while chasing their former glory, The Supermen Lovers follow up last year's 'Take a Chance' (a track I'm only aware of because I was charged with the task of reviewing it) with the 'Foundation Disco' EP. Only, it's not really an EP, as it consists of two tracks and three remixes of the first one.

The press release tells us that "Funk is not dead: it's alive, kicking and trying to fuck 20-year old girls in the toilet while listening to the first track, 'Keep the Funk Alive'". Funk, like Guillaume Atlan (the man behind The Supermen Lovers) should be old enough to know better, quit chasing tail and deal with the fact it's well past its prime – especially in light of this woefully generic slice of funked-up electronic disco toss.
