Our Rating:
Sam Shinazzi is a singer-songwriter from Sydney, Australia who writes short, fluffy pop songs with sing-along choruses.

These are essentially simple, commercial folk songs given a full band makeover. Jason Walker on pedal steel adds a few alt.country-ish touches.

Feel So Much Better is atypical for this genre in that it is about someone happy about a break up ("I feel so much better now you're gone") . Good Things is about things going swimmingly while Everything To Me, Grey and Grand Plans document the more conventional 'I feel so much worse' outcome of a failed romance. "When we were together baby the sky was always blue" from the latter is about as complex as these plaintive sentiments get.

The catchy opening track Movie Of Your Life encapsulates his straightforward, hooky song writing style. This and the USA travelogue song Twin Cities give a vague suggestion that he nurtures dreams of emulating his musical hero Bruce Springsteen. If so, he has some way to go.

The eleven tracks are melodic and radio friendly but offer only superficial hints of deeper emotions or grander statements.
