Review: 'Ottum, Josh'
'Watch TV'

-  Album: 'Watch TV' -  Label: 'Tapete Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '11th July 2011'

Our Rating:
If Sheryl Crow was a guy and threw in some indie leanings into her country rock stylings, she'd probably sound like Josh Ottum. Now, some of you may think that’s a good thing. Believe me, it isn’t.

At its best, as on tracks like 'Fool in the Night', sounds a little like a Steve Miller outtake from the 80s, ‘Watch TV’ is second-hand and second rate. It gets worse: 'Storms in the Summertime' just takes using naff sounds beyond the point at which it's amusing, and it's this insistence on taking the corny path that really makes large chunks of this album plain excruciating.

I really would take Josh’s advice folks: just watch TV (and give the album a miss).
