Review: 'Protectors'
'The Stem And Leaf EP'

-  Label: 'Philophobia Music'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '24th October 2011'

Our Rating:
Ah, so Protectors supported The Cribs earlier in the year did they? Whoop. Personally, I couldn’t care less about The Cribs, who are one of those bands that simply blend into the general morass of forgettable indie cal that’s become the sonic wallpaper of the last decade. I mean, how does anyone muster the energy to get excited about a band like The Cribs?

In a world where second-rate acts like Shed Seven and The Cribs, The Kooks and The View make the first division, it really doesn’t say much about the lower leagues where bands like Protectors linger. You’ll forgive me, then, if I’m even less enthused about a band that supported some indie nonentities.

They might like real ale and rambling – all good in my book – but the simple fact is that Protectors sound like the sort of band that might support The Cribs. I rest my case.
