Sad Sad Bicycle is Sai Esquivel Lomas who is originally from Mexico but is now a wandering minstrel who can now be found travelling somewhere in the states.
He was last seen heading to the West Coast but stayed still long enough in Oklahoma City to record eight songs for his second album.
It shouldn't have taken him too long as he is happy to keep his brand of folk-blues in a raw, unpolished state.
On the album's front cover he pledges to be "lo-fi till I die". His music is in the same spirit as Skip Spence's Oar or Beck's Stereopathetic Soulmanure.
His lyrics are full of strange collocations which could be due to :
a) an imperfect grasp of the English language
b) writing while under the influence of mind-enhancing substances OR

c) a lateral viewpoint demonstrating a heightened poetic imagination.
My guess is that it is a combination of all three.
On the opening track (Hang Like Death) he sings "shall we rend the veil of tears that hide, to laugh, to live again, to ride" has a "daymare on
This Is For Cody and on Drag On Your Bones refers to "a bloody mouth and faceless serpentine".
All this will keep you guessing as you gather around the campfire. The upshot of his philosophy can be summed up from a line from Into The Season "I have a song in my heart, all I want is to be free".
