Review: 'TERMINAL GODS'
'Electric Eyes'

-  Label: 'Self-released'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: 'February 2012'

Our Rating:
TERMINAL GODS are an old school Goth band who sound like the Sisters of Mercy arguing with the Psychedelic Furs over who can do the best 69 Eyes impersonation. Electric Eyes has some unintentionally funny lyrics on the chorus when the singer Cowlin is singing about letting it shine like a lamp shade and let it shine like Electric eyes.

I get the feeling from the B-side, God Child, which steals most of the tune from the Sisters Of Mercy's Alice that the Terminal Gods take themselves very seriously indeed and this should be heard in a room full of dry ice and strobe lights to work properly, as they tell us to listen to the god child and spend time with the holy man.

The bonus track on the single Red Light Love doesn't mess with the formula at all, sounding like another Sister of Mercy outtake. It sounds like it would fill the floor on the right dancefloor somewhere like club Antichrist so we can all dance along as he sings about being shot down with a poison dart.

If you like your goth old style then you will love Terminal Gods. No more and no less.
