For Milk Maid's second album, the band move away from bedroom pop but not too far.
It has a vaguely summery lo-fi feel, albeit one in which the warm sunny days are mostly spent wasting time indoors rather than chilling out on the beach.
The psychedelic rock may sound carefree until you find that lyricist Martin Cohen is preoccupied with subjects like a damned soul in a pact with the devil.

If you want some reference points, I 'd say their ironic post-pop sound is close in mood to the Beta Band or Super Furry Animals - lazy and jangly where guitar solos are offered up reluctantly as though in defiance of standard rock cliches.
Most of the time they sound like bored Americans who are pissed off about something but can't be bothered to tell you what exactly.
