Review: 'Fawn Spots'
'Spanish Glass'

-  Label: 'Louder Than War'
-  Genre: 'Punk/New Wave' -  Release Date: '20th August 2012'

Our Rating:
York-based no-fi noisemongers Fawn Spots have been kicking up a racket and generally drawing attention to themselves for a year or so now. On the back of a slew of suitably ramshackle live shows and a trio of self-released EPs ( their debut six-tracker was fittingly entitled ‘Mess’), they’ve managed to win the seal of approval from Membranes / Goldblade punk guru and Louder Than War head honcho John Robb, landing themselves a prestigious LTW vinyl release.

‘Spanish Glass’ is a typically rough ‘n’ ready riotous affair, a trashy, thrashy four chord ruckus drenched in cavernous reverb. The Spots go at it hell for leather like they’ve hijacked the studio while the paying band are taking a fag break. They may be one trick ponies, but it’s such a good trick, who cares?
