Review: 'Le Galaxie'
'Fade 2 Forever (EP)'

-  Label: 'Delphi'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '13th July 2012'

Our Rating:
Given that the 80s retro thing’s been going on for so long now, it’s more or less contemporary once again. There’s no limit to the extent of retro chic, and Le Galaxie have embraced this ethos and run it to the max on ‘Fade 2 Forever’.

The EP’s positively popping with slick 80s electro disco, right down to the ‘pow-pow’ ‘drum’ sounds. ‘Heart 2 Heart’ is notable for its sparser arrangement and robotix sounds, and ‘The Nightcaller’ clatters metallically into Jan Hammer territory before swerving into a more 90s mainstream dance sort of place.

It’s all well and good, but there’s nothing particularly remarkable or memorable about any of the songs. Overall, while angling for a ‘retro’ feel, Le Galaxie only succeed in sounding needlessly dated.
