The Louder than War 7” singles release schedule continues with another quality release, this time showcasing a brace of tracks by Dutch lo-fi enthusiasts Rats on Rafts.
The lead track is a charming slice of sweetly jangling indie pop performed with a snappy punk edge, a maelstrom of guitars stirring in the background of the choruses, while flippantly-titled flipside ‘Kevin in Cabbage Town’ is strangely groovy. Musically, it takes the form of a dubby post-punk oddity, with a vaguely ska tinge, while lyrically, well, it’s anyone’s guess, but it’s pretty cool however you look at it.
