Review: 'Scraps'
'Secret Paradise EP'

-  Label: 'Critical Heights'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '4th June 2012'-  Catalogue No: 'CRITTER16'

Our Rating:
Imagine if Young Marble Giants had formed in the early 80s instead of the tail end of the 1970s, and had been influenced by Japanese electro pop. Or, if you can’t imagine that, you could just listen to Scraps’ latest release. Driven by a primitive drum machine this EP contains three slices of quirky bedsit electro that balances bounce with sparse production that lends it a degree of bleakness, are compelling and catchy and not just a little bit odd – in a good way. After all, you just don’t hear many songs about Russian spaceships any more...
