Review: 'HYPNOTIC LIGHTS, THE'
'We Are'

-  Label: 'THL imprint'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '30th July 2012'-  Catalogue No: 'THL001'

Our Rating:
This German trio sing in Eurovision English and play commercial synthesized 'new-wave' pop as though we are still in the 1980s.

Their debut release is referred to as an EP even though it lasts 43 minutes with 8 tracks, although admittedly this includes two sprawling seven minute remixes of the tunes Storm and You Will Be by synth-man Lanny May.

On other tracks, Ina Becker and Hannes Matthias sing over the plodding synthetic beats trying to be "shimmering" and "seductive" but failing miserably.

Ina has a tunelessly grating voice while his is breathy and characterless.

What they do sound like is The Human League minus the hooks.

Not good.
