This is the third album by ZEN MOTEL and the first to cross my radar, which is a shame as this near burst out of my speakers. The opening blasts of Superhuman Colosseum's high octane punk metal fairly grabbed me by the balls and insisted I listened to it again and again as does most of the album.
The Pit has some really upfront guitars with totally in your face lyrics spat out in a wonderfully insolent manner before Kill Your Radio comes blasting out of the speakers like it ought to be blasting out of any decent rock radio station, even if they are singing about destroying said radio stations. A great sonic explosion of a tune whatever.
Death Rock City, meanwhile, sounds like it could almost be a Demolition 23 outtake and is helped along the way by their guest guitar god CJ from The Wildhearts who does his thing how you'd expect him too.
Cut And Run sounds like the perfect time to dive into the mosh pit and let it all out before CJ rejoins them for Bone Deep In Trouble: a rather gory little murder ballad that they follow with a brilliant detour into Horrorcore with Curse Of The Girlfiend, which comes complete with B-movie lyrics about the female of the title and is every bit as good as most of Wednesday 13's material.

House Of The Dying Sun brings things to a close in style. It's one of those songs that starts off all nice before the full on freak out happens and brings this great blast of a record to its conclusion. Thankfully they show no signs anywhere of Green Day or Blink 182 influence but instead seem inspired by the likes of The Wildhearts, Demolition 23 and The Stooges and proffer some cool artwork to boot. I'd like to see if they are as good live as they are on CD.
