Although the objective of Heathered Pearls – aka Jakub Alexander – in making ‘Loyal’ is to create ambient music with a greater sense of melody, the nine pieces that make up the album are very much focused on fuzzed edges, slow oscillating sounds and gentle sweeps that lack any obvious sense of ‘tune’ in the conventional sense.
The softly pulsing rolls of sound do form natural rhythms more close to those found in nature than anything man-made; rolling waves lap against one another to create an air of tranquillity.
