Our Rating:
Well, obviously the title is a rather inaccurate statement, and I feel somewhat cheated. On inserting the disc into the player, I discovered it contained a dozen tracks, all of which feature sound. Actual audible sound! It’s not all silence at all. In fact, as I sat, my ear cocked to the speakers, slow electronic bubbles rose though the crunchy viscosity of gently layered synths.

‘Precipice Drive’ is built around a soft, shuffling beat with jazzy swirls, occasionally interrupted, quite rudely, by warping aftershocks of digital interference. Slow glitch and subtle grooves run through ‘Vestige for Wind day’ and ‘Dummur. Mellow jazz with a funky tang and laid-back trumpet meanders around on the closer, ‘Cloudsfall’.

It’s all a bit smug for my tastes, but no doubt the perfect soundtrack to a smoky, sultry late-night / early morning chillout session.
